Dragon Blood
"If you
enter this path then there is no turning back for you. Whoever tastes
the blood of the dragon no longer belongs to himself but only to the
dragon. Drink my boy and you'll be a man and a lot more. You will
become part of the Dragon. He will cleanse your mind with his fire
and revive your heart, while your blood will begin to burn. Forget
all your gods and believes, forget your ancestors and traditions,
forget your past and your future and only live in the now, live for
the dragon for he is the only one who can save you from the fire!"
The man gave the cup to the boy with his both hands, muttering some
prayers. The boy took the cup and drank. The liquid was dark and
although it seemed to be cold as no fumes emanated from it, still the
liquid in his mouth seemed to trigger a fire in his throat. At home
he had often emptied a bottle or an half bottle of hot pepper in
competition with his father and this burning was no different, so he
thought nothing further here and waited until the burning subsided
again. Otherwise, he felt no change and thought maybe that it had not
worked or that all the talk of the old man were nothing but stories.
But for that he knew the old man too well and before he could think
about his last thought it started. Suddenly he heard a loud screaming of
torment and suffering as if someone is dying in agony. At the same
time he felt that his brain began to burn and a little later his
eyes. Then it was the turn of his heart and later his whole body felt
as if he was under fire. His mind also began to burn and the last
thought he had was that it was him who was screaming there. He sagged and
landed with a crash on the wooden floor. He fell into a deep state of
ecstasy with the pain seeming to kill him, yet he was still in his
senses, and the pain did not seem to want to quit. He wished that he
was dead already. But he was not dead, and although he could not open
his eyes, he saw pictures in front of his eyes. Later he often would
wish to have died on this day. It began as a barely recognizable
image which immediately disappeared again. It was white and that was
the only thing he could first recognize. The picture appeared again
and again at varying intervals, and he felt a burning in his bones.
It was a dragon's head, he could see it now, and his own head turned
as if the world would stand on his head. He did not know anylonger
where was up and where was down . This dragon was not just a dragon
and not just an image or vision and for the first time in his life he
felt real fear reaching deep into his bones. He felt miserable and
could not bear it anylonger, but suddenly he noticed that he had
become part of the fire and his mind had now taken on a different
form. The pictures in his eyes changed and he started to see other
visions now.
